Abstract
This invention relates to a method for fabricating a flexible heating tape designed for biomedical, portable electronics, and temperature sensor applications. This method combines Surface Modification and Ion Exchange (SMIE) with a sticker cutting technique to create a precise heating pattern on a polyimide (PI) substrate. The fabrication process includes the design of the heating pattern, the application of the sticker cutting as a masking, the immersion of the substrate in an AgNO3 solution, and the reduction of silver ions to a metallic silver layer using NaBH4. The result is a flexible heating tape with uniform heat distribution, high thermal stability, and the ability to reach temperatures up to 160°C at a voltage of 1.5 V. This heating tape is ideal for use in DNA amplification, particularly in Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) PCR systems, as well as other applications requiring precise temperature control and high portability.
