Abstract

This invention discloses a method for obtaining and storing Major Royal Jelly Protein 1 (MRJP1) from royal jelly. The method in this invention begins with dissolving royal jelly in Tris-HCl buffer pH 7.0, followed by centrifugation at 15,000 × g, filtration at 0.45 μm, and ultrafiltration using a 30 kDa membrane to obtain a large protein fraction. The purification process is carried out through anion exchange chromatography followed by further purification based on size exclusion chromatography. The purity and identity of the MRJP1 monomer are validated through SDS-PAGE and structural analysis using Cryo-TEM, until a monomeric MRJP1 product with a purity level of ≥95% is obtained in a stable buffer containing Tris-HCl pH 7.0, 150 mM NaCl, and 10% glycerol. Furthermore, the MRJP1 monomer is stored at a temperature of 4°C to -20°C.
