Abstract

This invention relates to a formula for enrichment of sugarcane litter decomposition without composting and its decomposition method applied in situ. The enrichment formula is composed of Saccharomyces sp. Sacc1.2, Azotobacter sp. AZ350, spirulina flour, and molasses as a source of microbial nutrition. The liquid sugarcane litter decomposer consortium formula uses Trichoderma sp. TIC, T. asperellum Kbr16, Pleurotus sp. Pl17, and Cytobacillus firmus F321, which have high cellulolytic and lignolytic enzyme activities. All strains were isolated from sugarcane plantation ecosystems so they have good adaptation ability to sugarcane litter substrates. This enrichment formula and decomposer consortium accelerate the decomposition process of sugarcane litter without going through conventional composting stages.Application in greenhouse tests shows that sugarcane litter can be decomposed in 8 weeks, with a decrease in organic C by 33%, a decrease in the C / N ratio from 25 to 12, and a decrease in litter weight by 59%. The resulting litter decomposition has the potential to increase soil microbial activity, improve the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil, increase the efficiency of NPK fertilizers, and support increased sugarcane yields. This invention provides a non-burning technological approach in handling sugarcane litter as well as being a technology for increasing soil organic matter in sugarcane cultivation systems, thereby supporting more environmentally friendly and sustainable sugarcane farming practices.
