Osmosis Pretreatment Machine and Convective Dryer Based on Automatic Control

Abstract

As an integrated tool that functions for the pretreatment process (osmotic dehydration) and drying of ginger. The design consists of two parts which have functions 1. As a Pretreatment (Ginger Soaking) This section functions as an integrated pretreatment module to carry out initial dehydration of ginger through the osmotic dehydration method using a sugar solution, as an initial stage before the further drying process. 2. As a Drying Chamber This section serves as a follow-up to the ginger drying process after osmotic dehydration, which is carried out in a closed chamber dryer. The ginger is arranged in tiers on trays supported by tray holders, using a convection-based drying process using a fan heater as a heat source. The entire process is controlled by an ESP32-based control system equipped with temperature and humidity sensors to maintain optimal drying conditions.
