Disclosed in the present invention is a method, apparatus and means of processing video monitoring data, and a computer-readable storage medium. The method includes: determining the position information of a perimeter of a security protection area, wherein the perimeter includes a border line or a border area of an actual geographical area corresponding to the security protection area (S10); determining target video monitoring devices, the monitoring ranges of which overlap with said perimeter (S20); according to the position information of said perimeter and the position information of the monitoring ranges of said target video monitoring devices, determining the overlapping areas between said perimeter and the monitoring ranges of said target video monitoring devices (S30);and determining a coverage result of said perimeter by using the overlapping areas and position information of said perimeter, wherein said coverage result is used to represent the range to which said perimeter is covered by the monitoring ranges of the video monitoring devices (S40).
