Abstract

Abstract INTERNET OF THINGS AND OPTICAL CHARACTER RECOGNITION BASED WATER METER MONITORING DEVICE WITH SEVEN SEGMENT DISPLAY In various regions in Indonesia, most regional water companies (PDAM) still use analog water meters. The water company's meter reading officers need to view and record the water meter readings manually every month. Customers can record their own meter readings and attach the numbers in front of the house so that officers can see them. It often happens that customers' water meters are located in a closed area of the house, so that user privacy is forced to be compromised and officers will also have difficulty entering the area of the house. As a result, the water recording process by officers is disrupted by the risk of recording errors. By implementing this Internet of Things Based Water Meter Monitoring Tool, these problems can be overcome. The Internet of Things (IoT) can connect all devices to the internet, simplifying the collection and recording of water meter readings. The meter's readings are displayed on a large seven-segment display, allowing staff to view the readings from a distance. Furthermore, the data can be displayed online on customers' mobile apps to monitor their water usage.
