METHODS FOR PREPARING ORAL CAPSULES TO HELP REDUCE NON-ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE (NAFLD)

Abstract

Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) is a condition of fat accumulation in the liver that is not caused by alcohol. Bawang lanang is a plant that contains many antioxidants. 10 This study used 5 groups of male rats consisting of negative control (normal rats were only given food); positive control (rats that were made to have fatty liver by giving palm oil for 2 weeks); test group I (rats that had been made to have fatty liver were given bawang lanang extract at a dose of 15 mg / kg BW for 1 month); test group II (rats that had been made to have fatty liver were given bawang lanang extract at a dose of 30 mg / kg BW for 1 month).; test group III (rats that had been made to have fatty liver were given bawang lanang extract at a dose of 60 mg / kg BW for 1 month). The results of this study indicate that the three 20 test doses above can reduce fatty liver as evidenced by a decrease in SGPT and SGOT.So it can be said that green tea with the above dosage can help in reducing NAFLD or can be an alternative medicine for NAFDL fatty liver patients.
