Abstract

There are two types of local Bacillus sp., namely B. subtilis BK7.1 and B. mojavensis EG6.4. B. subtilis has the potential as a biocontrol agent for various diseases both in health and agriculture. B. subtilis produces various types of enzymes as well as surfactin and iturin lipopeptides that play an important role as antifungal substances. B. subtilis also plays a role in promoting plant growth and systemic resistance. A single formula of B. subtilis with the product name "FZB24" has been registered in Germany as a plant strengthening agent. B. mojavensis is able to produce surfactin, iturin, and fengycin lipopeptides. The synergistic activity between the three local Bacillus sp. isolate species and the combination formula in the form of a consortium between isolates as an antifungal agent has been studied. A consortium is a mixture of microbial populations in the form of a community that has cooperative, commensal, and mutualistic relationships. The relationship between microbial consortia in sufficient substrate conditions will not interfere with each other, but synergize with each other to produce higher decomposition efficiency during the growth process, and it is proven, namely the consortium of B. subtilis BK7.1 with B. mojavensis EG6.4. The use of microbial consortia tends to provide better results, because the work of enzymes from each type of microbe can complement each other. So the combination of the consortium of bacterial isolates B. subtilis BK7.1 with B. mojavensis EG6.4 can be used for the benefit of antifungal biological agents in the fields of agriculture or health.
