Abstract

This invention relates to the material composition, body design, and arrangement of supporting components for exoskeleton construction. More specifically, this invention is a redesign of an exoskeleton designed as a rehabilitation tool for stroke patients using brainwaves. The increasing number of stroke cases requires more effective rehabilitation methods. Conventional methods assisted by physiotherapists have limitations, so exoskeletons are an alternative. This exoskeleton is controlled by human brainwaves to support patient movement. The exoskeleton is designed with a division of low-level and high-level systems. Low-level components include encoder sensors and actuators computed on an Arduino processor. The high-level components include Neurosky Mindwave Mobile 2 sensors and KNN machine learning computations with a Raspberry Pi computer. At the abstract level, the low-level system focuses on motor control and physical movement of the exoskeleton.Meanwhile, high-level systems focus on higher-level tasks and behaviors, such as classification and movement commands. A lower-extremity exoskeleton is designed as a rehabilitation tool, allowing the robot to move autonomously based on movement commands received from the human brain, captured by brainwave sensors.
