Waste Heat Recovery by Using Nitrogen

Abstract

This invention discloses a waste heat recovery system and method using nitrogen as the working fluid. Pressurized nitrogen is heated using a waste heat source, resulting in an increase in enthalpy. The nitrogen is then expanded through a turbine, expander, pressure machine, or similar device to generate mechanical work and / or electrical energy. This system enables the utilization of waste heat from various industrial processes and power plants to improve overall energy utilization.
