Abstract
Abstract DISTRIBUTED EDGE-IOT SENSOR FUSION-BASED RESERVOIR AND GEOTHERMAL SURFACE EQUIPMENT PREDICTIVE MONITORING SYSTEM The present invention concerns a distributed Edge-IoT sensor fusion-based predictive monitoring system for reservoirs, Steam Above Ground System (SAGS) networks, and geothermal surface equipment. The system includes a plurality of edge nodes each connected to acoustic, gas proxy, vibration, temperature, flow, and / or pressure sensors; a fusion and assessment gateway; a local alert device; and a dashboard. Each node performs acquisition, filtering, feature extraction, normalization, condition classification, and generation of compact data payloads locally. Payloads containing node identity, timestamp, features, and status are conditionally sent when the network is available, while when the network is disconnected the node remains operational and stores data in a local buffer. The gateway validates and aligns cross-domain features, then fuses them to produce a Reservoir Health Score (RHS), Equipment Fitness Index (EFI), and System Efficiency Metric (SEM). It also evaluates thresholds and trends, activates indicator lights, buzzers, and local displays, and sends indicators, alarms, and history to the dashboard. This modular architecture enables step-by-step monitoring, reduced communication volume, resilience to network disruptions, and a unified presentation of geothermal health information.
