Abstract
A modular home construction system consisting of precast components assembled using the dry assembly method, including: precast base foundations (1) with notches for supports that mechanically lock the columns without grouting; grooved columns (2) that double as vertical structural elements and locking rails for precast wall panels (3) that are installed horizontally and through a sliding mechanism from top to bottom without structural mortar; load distribution channels (4) that distribute the roof load evenly to the precast wall panels (3) and grooved columns (2); and roof tie beams (purlins) (5) that bind the entire roof and upper columns to form an integrated horizontal diaphragm. Complementary components include roof coverings (6), door and window frames (7), door leaves (8), window leaves (9), and canopies (10).The load transfer mechanism follows the load path from the roof (6) to the purlin (5), then the load is distributed through the channel (4) to the precast wall panels (3) and grooved columns (2), to the base foundation (1), and ends at the ground. All components can be assembled without water, mortar, or heavy equipment, and can be dismantled again without damaging the components so that the building is relocatable, very suitable to support the program to accelerate the development of mass housing in Indonesia.
