Abstract
PUKABANG FK UNIVA MEDANThis invention concerns the formulation of organic fertilizer PUKABANG FP UNIVA MEDAN based on onion peel waste which is processed through controlled fermentation to produce organic fertilizer that is stable, hygienic, and rich in nutrients and bioactive compounds. The fertilizer formulation consists of onion peel as the main ingredient, rice bran, dolomite, molasses, microbial activator, and water. The manufacturing process includes the stages of chopping raw materials, mixing materials, inoculation of activator solution, fermentation for 14–21 days, turning if using a pile system, and the maturation process until organic fertilizer is ready for use. Fermentation functions to accelerate the decomposition of organic materials, increase the availability of nutrients, and maintain the content of bioactive compounds found in onion peel.The resulting fertilizer contains macro and micro nutrients that are easily absorbed by plants, as well as bioactive compounds that can stimulate root, stem, and leaf growth, flowering, and crop production. In addition to enhancing plant growth and productivity, this formulation also improves the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil, increases the activity of beneficial microorganisms, and supports sustainable agricultural systems by utilizing organic waste as a fertilizer raw material.
