Abstract

This invention relates to a marine bacterial consortium system consisting of Bacillus cereus, Bacillus sp., Bacillus mycoides, Stappia perfectomarina, Bacillus albus, and Alcaligenes aquatilis to produce cosmeceutical bioactive compounds. This system works through metabolic interactions between marine microorganisms that produce a complex secondary metabolite profile in the form of hydroxyectoine, ectoine, violacein, kojic acid, betaine, and nicotinamide. The main metabolites produced show a dominance of hydroxyectoine based on LC-HRMS analysis, accompanied by ectoine and violacein as key bioactive components. This metabolite profile forms a metabolic fingerprint system that reflects the metabolic activity of marine microorganisms in extreme environmental conditions. The resulting metabolites have potential applications as active cosmetic ingredients with anti-aging, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, brightening agent, humectant, anti-pollution, and skin barrier protection functions.Metabolites were obtained through bacterial consortium culture, supernatant separation, extraction, and characterization using LC-HRMS. This invention offers a new approach in the development of cosmeceutical active ingredients based on multispecies marine bacterial consortia with integrated metabolic systems, which have the potential to become a source of sustainable and economically valuable natural cosmetic raw materials.
