Abstract

This invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT) based automatic irrigation sluice gate system that is capable of operating independently using a solar panel power supply with precise door position control. The system utilizes a 550 Wp solar panel optimized with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to charge a 12V 100Ah VRLA battery, then powers a Siemens S7-1200 PLC, Raspberry Pi 4B, 4G LTE modem, sensors, CCTV, and motor actuators via a Schneider contactor and 24VDC PSU. The door opening position is read continuously by an Omron E6B2-CWZ6C rotary encoder and its limits are monitored by a Fotek PM12-04N proximity sensor as a digital limit switch. The Raspberry Pi runs a Node-RED dashboard that can be accessed remotely to monitor energy telemetry, door status, and select OFF, MANUAL, or AUTO operation modes, while sending OPEN / CLOSE / STOP commands with visual verification via a V380 Pro CCTV.This invention improves the efficiency, safety, and reliability of irrigation management, especially in remote agricultural areas that are not reached by the PLN electricity network.
