Abstract

This invention relates to the development of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based aquaculture aerator sales system and method with a performance verification mechanism before the transaction, called the Buy After Check (IoT-BACK) method. The main problem in purchasing conventional aerators is the mismatch between the equipment's capacity and the actual needs of the pond due to reliance on promotional claims alone. This invention aims to provide data transparency through the integration of dissolved oxygen (DO) sensors, current sensors, and voltage sensors connected to an ESP32 microcontroller. Through this system, aerator performance can potentially be tested directly in the field by calculating the aeration efficiency value based on the comparison of the increase in oxygen levels to electrical power consumption and pond volume. Test data as well as simulations of harvest scenarios and operational costs can potentially be presented to users through digital applications (web / mobile). This application has the potential to be equipped with a smart assistant feature, historical oxygen trend monitoring, and automatic product type recommendations to avoid equipment specification errors. Implementing this method has the potential to improve energy efficiency, provide investment certainty for farmers, and support purchasing decisions based on objective technical data.
