Abstract

The present invention relates to the formulation of a hyperbaric local anesthetic injectable preparation for parenteral, particularly intrathecal, use. The present invention relates in particular to a pharmaceutical composition containing (2RS)-N-(2-methylphenyl)-2-(propylamino) propanamide hydrochloride as the active ingredient, dextrose monohydrate as the tonicity agent, and a citrate buffer system in an aqueous solvent for injection, designed to increase the chemical stability of the active ingredient and control the formation of product contaminants during storage. This pharmaceutical composition does not contain any preservatives.
