Abstract
An invention has been produced related to the method of measuring and comparing the rate of radiation exposure in Radioiodine (I-131) therapy patients using two measuring devices, namely the Ranger surveymeter and the Else area monitor. This invention was carried out through the analysis of radiation dose rate data on 30 patients at the Nuclear Medicine Installation of Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta General Hospital on the 2nd and 3rd days after administration of radioiodine I-131. The measurement results showed that the Ranger surveymeter produced an average radiation exposure rate of 57.66 µSv / hour on the 2nd day and decreased to 30.19 µSv / hour on the 3rd day. Meanwhile, the Else area monitor showed an average value of 55.80 µSv / hour on the 2nd day and 27.97 µSv / hour on the 3rd day. Comparison of the two devices showed differences in measurement values influenced by detector sensitivity, device characteristics, and measurement conditions, but both showed a consistent downward trend.
