FORMULA OF METRONIDAZOLE PARENTERAL PREPARATION PACKAGED IN POLYPROPYLENE PLASTIC CONTAINERS

Abstract

This invention concerns the use of 100 mL polypropylene plastic containers in parenteral metronidazole preparations. Furthermore, the formulation of 0.5% metronidazole parenteral preparations is isotonic with 0.85% NaCl, characterized at pH 5.0 and sterilized using the wet heat method at 105 °C for 64 minutes. The formula and sterilization temperature are proven to be able to maintain the physical and chemical stability of MTD parenteral preparations packaged in 100 mL plastic containers and provide sterile quality.
