Abstract

A locking assembly (100, 200) for a door or window having a casing (104, 204) comprising first and second casing portions (141, 143). The assembly has a locking mechanism located within the casing, the locking mechanism comprising a cam follower engageable with a cylinder lock and moveable between first and second positions. In a first embodiment, the first and second casing portions (141, 143) overlap in a region adjacent to the cam follower. In a second embodiment, a sleeve (301) is provided to fit over the casing (204). The locking assembly (100, 200) is capable of resisting forced actuation of the cam follower by attackers using tools to attack the casing.
