Abstract

The device relates to the prevention of mis-fuelling a motor vehicle with petrol instead of diesel. The silicone ring sits around the fuel tank filler opening serves as a visual alert / notification only to the driver and is far superior to the small sticker on the inside of the fuel tank door which is easily missed. It is easily fitted and does not require tools or specialist assistance. For the low cost of purchase, it may prevent the very expensive remedy of mis-fuelling which involves draining the motor vehicle of the wrong fuel, cleaning the fuel lines and losing the cost of the fuel inserted in error. Also, some motor vehicles suffer irreparable damage if this incident occurs.
