AI Technical Summary
Existing universal fuels for piston engines are limited in their flexibility and effectiveness when proportions of vegetable oils and ethers deviate from specific ranges, leading to potential engine performance issues such as reduced power and smoke in exhaust gases.
A universal liquid fuel composition for piston engines comprising 1-71% monohydric aliphatic alcohols, 8-10% water, 1-90% vegetable oils, and 10-80% ethers, which forms clear solutions and maintains engine performance even when proportions of vegetable oils and ethers are outside traditional ranges, with sunflower oil, technical grade ethyl alcohol, and diethyl ether being preferred components.
The fuel composition provides satisfactory engine performance, including instantaneous ignition, smooth running, and clean exhaust gases, as demonstrated in both two-stroke motor cars and heavy diesel lorries, with flexibility in ingredient ratios that extend beyond traditional limits.
