AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing denture storage solutions fail to prevent warping, distorting, or cracking of dentures and do not address the issue of denture stomatitis, which is common among denture wearers.

Method used

A denture storage container with a hollow outer casing and a hollow inner copper casing, where the inner copper casing has a provision at the bottom to hold the denture, utilizing the oligodynamic effect of copper to prevent microbial growth and storing dentures in water to maintain shape and integrity.

Benefits of technology

The container effectively prevents denture warping, distorting, and cracking while inhibiting the growth of candida, thereby reducing the incidence of denture stomatitis through the antimicrobial properties of copper.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION:The present invention relates to a denture storage container. More specifically, the present invention relates to a denture storage container for hygienically storing a denture without any denture warping, distorting or cracking and preventing denture stomatitis.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:Dentures are made from acrylic that is designed to handle everyday use. Denturesmay be either full dentures which replace entire rows of teeth, or partial dentureswhich replace one or more teeth. According to the American Dental Association(ADA), effective denture storage prevents dentures from drying out, losing theirshape, becoming stiff and uncomfortable to wear.If dentures are not stored properly, it can cause warping, distorting or cracking ofdentures. This can negatively affect the fit, comfort and aesthetics of the dentures.Dentures must be cleaned and stored hygienically, or they can become a breedingground for mouth bacteria and develop plaque and tartar in the same way as naturalteeth. The available method for denture storage is to place it in clean water. Whendentures are not used, they restored in water (making sure that they are fully covered)to prevent dentures from drying out, so that material keeps its shape and integrity.Dentures have to placed in water in a covered container so that the water remainsuncontaminated.USRE35034E discloses a disposable container adapted for a single daily use forstoring and cleaning dentures when not worn is disclosed. The container, which isparticularly suitable for use in hospitals and nursing institutions as well as at home, ischaracterized as being disposable after a single use, of simple, convenient but elegantconstruction. inexpensive and sanitary, and carrying its own individual supply ofcleanser.US2973767A discloses a denture compact device for carrying a lower and an upperdenture, comprising: a main container having a wall; an auxiliary container fixedlymounted on said main container and spaced from said wall a distance sufficient toreceive lower denture between the auxiliary container and said wall; main covermeans adapted to form a water-tight closure with the main container; auxiliary covermeans adapted to form a water-tight closure with said auxiliary container; dentureholding means including a plate adjustably positionable between said auxiliary covermeans and said main cover means.US3732973A discloses a combined denture case and brush having a containerproviding a denture receptacle and a brush receptacle, the brush being positionable inthe brush receptacle to provide a handle for the combined case and brush.US4724855A discloses a method for use and application comprising a power denturewasher having a washing container for housing the denture with a removable sealablelid. Disposed within the lid is a denture cleaner storage compartment with aremovable sealable top cover. Disposed in the bottom of the washing container is adrain. The methodology includes placement of the denture within the container, rinsing under flowing water, adding the denture cleanser matter, inverting and fillingwith water and letting the denture soak and inverting the washing container to drainthe liquid out and rinsing the denture under a stream of water.About 90 percent of denture wearers commonly develop denture stomatitis, or mildinflammation of the oral membrane. Denture stomatitis is caused by a yeast or funguscalled candida. This causes inflammation or redness in the oral mucosa and hencerequire treatment.Though there exists several denture containers in the state of art, they do not discloseany mechanism for preventing denture stomatitis. Hence, there exists a need in thestate of art for a denture container which can hygienically store a denture and preventdenture stomatitis.OBJECT OF THE INVENTION:The main object of the present invention is to fabricate a denture storage container.Another object of the present invention is to fabricate a denture storage container forhygienically storing a denture without any denture warping, distorting or crackingand preventing denture stomatitis.Yet another object of the invention comprises of a container with a hollow outercasing, a hollow inner copper casing and a provision integrated in the inner coppercasing at the bottom and a lidYet another object of the present invention is to store a denture in the waterexhibiting oligodynamic effect.Yet another object of the present invention is to utilize the fabricated container forhygienically storing a denture without any denture warping, distorting or crackingand preventing denture stomatitis.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS:Figure1 depicts schematic diagram of denture storage containerTable SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:The present invention discloses a denture storage container for hygienically storing adenture without any denture warping, distorting or cracking and preventing denturestomatitis. The present invention comprises of a container[1] and a lid[2] adapted tofittingly cover the container[1]. The invention is characterized in the container[1]which comprises of an hollow outer casing[3] and a hollow inner copper casing[4]securely positioned within the hollow outer casing[3] with a provision[5] integratedin the inner copper casing[4] at the bottom to hold a denture.DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:The present invention discloses a denture storage container for hygienically storing adenture without any denture warping, distorting or cracking and preventing denturestomatitis. The present invention comprises of a container and a lid adapted tofittingly cover the container. The container and lid is in the shape of square orrectangle or circular or trapezium. The lid is removable or hinged to the container. The container comprises of a hollow outer casing and a hollow inner copper casing. The hollow inner copper casing is securely positioned within the hollow outer casing. The hollow inner copper casing has a provision at the bottom to hold a denture. Thehollow outer casing and the lid is made up of material comprising of stainless steel. The denture is stored overnight in the water exhibiting oligodynamic effect. As per the invention the provision is a holder made of copper.ADVANTAGES OF THE PRESENT INVENTION:Copper exhibtis antimicrobial, antifungal anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic andantioxidant properties .Water stored in the hollow inner copper casing for eight hoursor more, copper releases some of its ions in the water, through a process called theoligodynamic effect. Water stored in Copper container has numerous benefits; one ofthe property is antifungal property. Studies have proved that candidaalbicans doesn'tsurvive in these copper water. The dentures when stored in denture storage containerof the present invention found to prevent denture stomatitis. In one of the preferred embodiments, the present invention shall disclose a denturestorage container for hygienically storing a denture without any denture warping, distorting or cracking and preventing denture stomatitis.
