Abstract

A mortuary cabinet for disinfection of virus infected dead bodies, characterized in that;a fine net stand (2) is fixed at a centre of height on which dead body (3) would be placed; an ultraviolet lights (1)fixed to upper and lower side of the net; an opening drawer is provided at the front side of the box with tight handle to avoid any leakage of radiation;and an ON / OFF switch with indicator provided at the front panel and AC power adapter is provided on the right side of the box;wherein the whole unit is completely light tights operated from outside button provided outside the unit and a door is provided to one side where from body can be kept in and taken out.

2. The mortuary cabinet side as claimed in claim 1 wherein, all wall of the cabinet is constructed by thick plastics so UV light not observed from outside.

This pandemic is the most urgent concern because of its high transmission rate and rapid spread throughout the world. Currently there are no antiviral drugs or vaccine available to the public. In addition, millions of people’s lives have been affected as a result of mandatory isolations / quarantines. The after effects of the COVID-19 outbreak could potentially bring major challenges to worldwide health care systems. It will adversely going to affect the global economy and social lives of human beings.[003] Current information indicates that SARSCoV-2 is more transmissible / contagious than SARS-CoV. The majority of infection transmissions are believed to be by droplet spray from coughing and sneezing and by direct contact or contact with fomites.[004] SARS-CoV-2 has been detected in respiratory, faecal and blood specimens. The main route of transmission is considered to take place through large respiratory droplets by inhalation or deposition on mucosal surfaces, but other modes of transmission i.e. airborne and faeco-oral have also been proposed. Another route implicated in the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 includes contact with contaminated fomites due to persistence of the virus on surfaces.[005] As viable SARS-CoV-2 may persist on surfaces for days, there is the possibility that the virus also persists on deceased bodies. All dead bodies of COVID-19 deceased persons are potentially infectious and needs to be handled with utmost care following standard guidelines give by the authorities. The risk of transmission related to the handling of bodies of COVID-19 deceased persons can be related to- direct contact with human remains or bodily fluids where the virus is present and direct contact with contaminated fomites. [006] Agencies like World health organization (WHO), European centre for diseases prevention and control (ECDC) and ministry of health and family welfare, government of India, has already issued some guidelines to handle the dead bodies of COVID-19 infected patients.[007] There are several reports published in daily newspapers and other agencies regarding the mishandling of the dead bodies causing the spread of corona virus. Experts believe that, there is a huge gap in guidelines issued by health ministry regarding the handling of infected dead bodies and actual practice followed by health workers and family members. At times family members are very reluctant to follow these guidelines. Most likely violations are not wearing the mask, gloves or not taking proper safety measures. There are several incidences where family members kept a corona virus infected dead body at their home for paying last respects, whose reports were awaited and confirmed positive after burial. It is very difficult to educate the peoples or make them aware of proper guidelines of precautionary measures. [008] Considering the above mentioned problems, inventors tried to solve these complications by developing various means and technique for sanitizing the dead body and few of them are such as- WO2009087466A1 discloses a mobile body disinfection apparatus, WO2006025101A1 discloses a dead body putrefaction preventive equipment that is capable of preventing the putrefaction of not only a dead body surface but also a dead body viscera for a period from dead body procedure to cremation, US7337511B2 discloses a biological hazard protection body bag, WO2005040528A1 discloses A mobile containerized autopsy facility for use in distant contamination zones.[009] Consequently to overcome the above complications and the problem of spreading viruses from diseased body there is need to develop an improved apparatus and required modifications in mortuary design for disinfection of dead body. Hence, the present invention provides a mortuary cabinet for disinfection of virus infected dead bodies equipped with the UV lights.Object of the invention:[0010] Primary object of the present invention is to provide a mortuary unit for disinfection of virus infected deceased bodies.[0011] Another object of the present invention is to provide a sanitization cabinet using UV radiation for corona affected dismissal of dead body.[0012] Yet another object of the present invention is to protect the involved personnel i.e. workers and relatives from getting infected.[0013] Following the increase number of deaths, hospitals find it difficult to manage the storage of dead bodies.
