FIELD OF INVENTION:

[001] The present invention relates to the field of watch hand. The present invention in particular relates to a system and method for brush finish watch hand.DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART:

[002] Conventional watch pointers have been plated with gold, rhodium, black rhodium, etc., which have a diamond-cut and mirror-polished surface, which also has a decorative and rust-preventive effect, after finishing the pointer shape. All were achromatic tones. As a conventional technique (1) for obtaining a colored guideline, there is a method of obtaining a color tone such as blue or brown by an interference color such as a metal oxide by a vapor phase method such as vapor deposition, sputtering, or ion plating. As a prior art (2), there has been a method of obtaining a color tone such as blue or brown by using an interference color in the initial state of plating precipitation by using black rhodium, black ruthenium (Japanese Patent Publication No. 63-9027) or the like. As a conventional technique (3) there is a method of performing decorative plating 2 after completion of machining of the pointer to form a paint or ink layer 12 on the surface of the pointer. As a conventional technique (4), an iron-based material is used as a material as seen in the colored pointers for watches made in Europe, and this is heat-treated (blue ink) at 250 to 380°C to obtain a blue-based color tone.

[005] Publication No. JPH024982 relates to a colored hand for watchhaving metallic luster and full of color variety by subjecting a metallic hoop to required machining and then to ornamental plating, forming a colored electrodeposited resin layer on both sides of the above or selectively only on the top of the above, baking this resin layer, and then carrying out finish blanking into a hand shape. Constitution: Machining, such as surface pressing, pipe forming, and, pipe caulking, is applied to a hoop of brass, nickel silver, etc., having a hand finish blanking positioning guide hole and a center hole. Subsequently, an ornamental plating layer of Au, Ni, etc., is formed on the above and a colored electrodeposited resin layer ofblue, brown, green, etc., is further formed on both sides or selectively on the top alone, and then, the above stock is baked and subjected to finish blanking into a stand shape through the above guide hole, by which the colored hand for watch is manufactured. By this method, the above hang having metallic luster and full of color variety can be obtained.

[006] Publication No. JP2010223891 relates to a method of manufacturing the pointer for a timepiece having a cubic massive feeling of a curved surface shell round shape combined with high-class texture, and also possessing high visibility. The method of manufacturing the pointer for the timepiece is adopted, consisting of the first step of implementing continuous press working of a flat metal strip material followed by forming a sheath hole, bleaching out an outer shape, and finally producing a flat pointer blank, the second step of implementing polishing of the top face of pointer blank with elastomer tools to round off and chamfer the outline contour edge line of the pointer blank, and the third step of forming a coated top layer with plating and coating of the surface of pointer blank.

[007] Publication No. GB2031621 relates to a hand for a timepiece is formed in a two-layer construction, from a hard metal which is clad with a soft metal. The hard metal layer permits secure fixing of the hand to a shaft, as by a portion 12, while minimizing the possibility of deformation of the hand during such fixing. The soft metal layer can be easily formed into a desired pattern or be provided with a surface finish to provide an attractive appearance. The hand may thus be as thin as 30-50 microns and may for example be of nickel or stainless steel clad with gold or copper. The hands are blanked from a continuous strip using a diamond- tipped tool.

[008] Publication No. JPH05307089 relates to watch hands thin and presenting three-dimensional sense and a method of manufacturing them. In manufacturing hands for a watch, hand body and seat are formed by a surface press process prior to formation of a boss and a boss hole. Therefore, increasing the pressure of the surface-press process does not influence the precision of the boss hole. When the boss and boss hole are formed by the surface-press process, a curved surface can be formed without producing burrs at the bore of the lower opening of the boss hole.

[009] Publication No. CN103097967 relates to a special hand forsudden acceleration. Said hand is mounted such that it can pivot about an axis so as to be able to indicate a piece of information. Said hand is produced from an at least partially amorphous metal alloy.

[017] The present invention provides a system and method for brush finish watch hands as referred in figure 1. The brushed finish is obtained by pulling a brush over the surface of the metal concrete, after the surface has been levelled. The type of finish obtained will depend upon the coarseness of the brush bristles. The brushing system; as shows in figure 2; comprises base 1; auto coder 2; cylinder supporting column3; linear rod less cylinder4; brushing head 5; pneumatic strip feeder 6; strip guide way 7; brush 8; water collecting tank 9; and slurry collecting tray 10.

[018] The base 1 gives support and rigidity to the machine and also all machine constructed on the base. The material in the form of strips. The strip is coiled to the disk, and that disc load to the auto coder 2. That strip feed the strip to the machine during brushing operation. The cylinder supporting column 3 is the main supportingframe mounted vertically on the base. The column is heavily to the base 1. Linear rod less cylinder 4 is mounted with cylinder supporting column 3 and carries the brushing head 5 and brush 8. Brushing Head 5 is assembled with Linear rod less cylinder 4. The function of assembly is (i) holding the brush and, (ii) for depth setting on the strip. Pneumatic Strip feeder 6 is used to feed brass strip to the brushing action. This is operated using pneumatic cylinders. The feeder is adjusted to a certain pitch so that each time when the strip feeder feeds the strip it moves repeatedly the exact same pitch. There are two types of strip feeders i.e. push or pull. Brushing machine uses pull type. Strip guide way 7 supports and holds the strip during brushing operation, it is directly mounted on the Base 1. Brush 8 is the actual tool using in brushing operation. A wire brush is a tool consisting of a brush whose bristles are made of wire, most often steel wire. The steel used is generally a medium-to high-carbon variety and very hard and springy. Water collecting Tank 9 attached to the Base 1, to the front portion of the machine, this is water reservoir to clean the strip after brushing operation. Water is used here is DM Water While brushing abrasive slurry will be applied, to collect used slurry and strip erosive material is collected by slurry collecting tray 10.

[019] The brass strip is fed by a coiler 2, which holds the coil of strip which is needed to be Brushing operation. The strip is then passed through the Strip Guide way 7 which is mounted on the machine Base 1 and the strip exists through the pneumatic strip feeder 6.

[020] Initially the brushing head in home position, after strip setting select the number of strokes required for brushing operation. In Brushing head Z axis is provided to apply depth. Before start; operation releases the depth to maximum height zero, once machineon cylinder along with brushing head and brush start reciprocate in horizontal direction. Then Z axis is adjusted to get the desired depth of cut. Once the cutting is done the strip Guide way releases the brass strip and the pneumatic strip feeder feeds the brass strip to its next location. Once the setting is correctly done the machine can be set to automatic mode so the above mentioned process repeats continuously.
