Abstract

Ergonomic syringe and auxiliary parts of the filler injection syringe with one-handed aspiration capability, discomfort and pain in the hand and fingers are among the problems that doctors and especially beauty specialists have reported after using gel (filler) injection syringes. Due to the need for high precision during injection, the need to control the accuracy of the injection (aspirating or suctioning), injection in a state where the hands and upper limbs of the doctors are in an inappropriate ergonomic position, the need to apply a lot of force to discharge the filler liquid or gel (it has a high viscosity), and the high number of injections (high repetition), this has caused dissatisfaction and reports of musculoskeletal disorders in the hands and fingers, and even the shoulders and neck, among doctors. Cosmetic physicians are one of the groups that are at risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders in the upper limbs due to repetitive activities such as gel or filler injections. Performing gel injections in the facial area requires static posture and sometimes applying great force to the fingers due to the high viscosity of the injected gels. In addition to being repetitive work, filler injections are also a factor in the development of CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome, related to the median nerve of the wrist), which is considered a musculoskeletal disorder. The use of syringes and needle equipment for drug injection has long been common in medicine, but currently, due to the special design of syringes and changes in the level of need for syringes in many professions, improvements are needed to optimize the performance of the syringe. In the meantime, many doctors and cosmetic specialists on the face require high precision and also aspirate the syringe before injection. At this time, doctors are forced to spend a lot of time in an unconventional posture and use both hands to perform injection and aspiration operations. On the other hand, the thinness of the needle channel or nozzle and the high viscosity of the filler liquid or gel and the low level at the point of contact between the finger and the syringe tip have caused doctors and cosmetic specialists to feel discomfort in the hand and upper limb area. Some of the problems that both doctors and patients (beauty seekers) will have include the following. 1. Hand injuries caused by pressure and suction 2. Insufficient precision in injection due to moving the needle head using two hands. 3. Reduce injection and suction speed 4. Creating a feeling of pain for the patient during the injection To solve the current problems, the design of the syringe itself includes an ergonomic piston and accessories with the ability to help aspirate the syringe during injection. The ergonomic design of this syringe is innovative and an innovative step because the use of the syringe with a portable accessory is optimal for reducing discomfort in the hands of doctors. This product aims to facilitate the injection, as well as increase speed and accuracy, and reduce problems and injuries to the hands of doctors and users. This product, with a designed mechanism, helps doctors to perform the suction process using one hand. This will solve the problems mentioned above during injection. (Figure 5). Based on the research conducted in domestic patents, no prior inventions based on injection aid parts for syringes were registered. By examining patents registered outside Iran, the most common designs of syringe suction parts were examined, and their differences in terms of design and ergonomics are mentioned below: 1- A syringe side piece with registration number US 2016 / 0166771 A1 entitled Hypodermic Aspirating Syringe and Syringe Adapter, which is in the form of a thumb grip that is incorporated into the piston and is positioned in such a way that the user can remove the piston by raising the thumb to apply force to the thumb grip. This piece is designed in a C shape and its main disadvantage is that one side of the piece is open and the pressure applied to suction and control the syringe reduces the doctor's control of working with the syringe during injection. The C-shaped design of the piece, which is open on one side, has caused the thumb to not be able to have proper support during injection, which in the long term will cause the user to suffer from ergonomic injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, ganglion cyst, Kienbach's disease, De Coron's disease (Dacron), arthritis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis of the finger joint, basal arthritis of the thumb and tuberculosis of the wrist.On the other hand, in this invention, there is no second injection aid that we have designed, so there is no support for the thumb and middle finger during injection with one hand, which makes the injection not easy to do with one hand and requires the use of the second hand during injection. As a result, the accuracy and speed of the injection are reduced. In our proposed invention, a suitable support is designed for the index and middle finger, which in addition to solving the problems of this design will increase performance and reduce ergonomic damage to the user's hand. It also does not claim to reduce the force applied to the fingers. 2- The invention with registration number CN111821543A entitled Method and system for working with a piston relates to a device that can help use a piston. Due to the design of this part and the holes made on it, it is difficult for the user to easily move the fingers and their range of motion during injection. Also, this part is only designed for the movement and support of the thumb, and there is no support for the two index and middle fingers that are involved during injection, which reduces the accuracy and speed of injection and the possibility of moving the needle tip during injection. Also, this design, because it is open at the top of the part and is created to adjust the size according to the finger, may lead to damage to the user's thumb in the long run. In this patent, the support piece for the middle and index fingers is not considered, which limits the injection with one hand and the user cannot easily perform the suction operation with one hand. 3- The use of samplers and sampling syringes was also mentioned in many patents, because the shape and use of these samplers are different, since they are not actually syringes at all, they were not comparable in this field for the purpose of discussing innovation. In addition, the innovation of the present invention is based on the new and ergonomic design and decorations of the syringe, which is not similar in any of the previous examples. It is worth noting that the change in the ornamental design and ergonomics is a new claim in this invention. 4- US20190030253A1, is a syringe design for injecting filler into the face. In this invention, the shape of the decorative design is different, and the thumb area is designed as a semicircle, which will cause the finger to get caught in it. In the present design, the decorative design is rectangular and has dimensions of the 95th percentile of Iranian society. 5- US20030060777 - ERGONOMIC SYRINGE In this invention, the accessory does not have a lower restraint on the cylinder and the design is different from the present invention. In addition, the present invention has the ability to make the accessory portable in a country-specific manner. 6- US20150238698: In this invention, there is no lower restraint accessory on the cylinder. The decorative design is different. 7- EP3730172 This invention discloses a method for operating a plunger which focuses on holding the finger on the upper accessory which is circular and fixed. This design is completely different from the present invention. There are different methods for supporting the finger which create different designs. The aspiration action is technically the same in all the claimed forms in all the inventions and it is only the difference in design that creates the innovation. 8- US20180078705 In this invention, the syringe design is different and does not have accessories and is designed as an integrated unit. The accessory shape is circular and has a small contact surface which is non-ergonomic. The present invention is designed with the ability to separate accessories and with a different decorative design and is distinct in shape from this patent number. Providing a solution to an existing technical problem along with an accurate, sufficient, and integrated description of the invention To solve the problem of difficulty for doctors to inject facial gel, two ergonomic approaches and decorative design were used. This product is a syringe with the feature of performing suction with one hand (Figure 1) and has two convenient supports for the user's fingers during injection. In the ergonomic model, the use of a larger contact surface reduces the pressure on the surface. Claims What is claimed: Claim 1) Ergonomic syringe and auxiliary parts The filler injection syringe with one-handed aspiration capability with an ergonomic and ornamental design is a gel or filler injection syringe for use by aestheticians and physicians that optimizes the injection process with the help of its ergonomic design and auxiliary parts. The new shape of the designed syringe includes the following parts: - Glass body and structure on which the various components of this syringe are mounted, - Plunger - Accessory parts or auxiliary parts (1- Upper support for the thumb, 2- Lower support for the middle and index fingers) Claim 2) According to claim 1, the syringe and needle portion of the syringe is for injecting filler into the facial area.
