Various measures and devices have been proposed in the past to achieve the above-mentioned result. The purpose of the invention is to propose a a particularly simple and efficient solution to the aforementioned problem, characterised by extreme convenience and ease of use. In order to achieve this aim, the invention concerns a device of the type indicated above, characterised by the fact that it comprises Velcro fastening means (registered trademark) arranged along at least a substantial portion of the perimeter of one face of each mattress, and a sheet-like joining material, for example in the form of fabric or a padded blanket, provided along corresponding portions of the perimeter of one of its faces with complementary Velcro coupling portions, designed to cooperate with the Velcro portions provided on the mattresses to keep such mattresses joined by means of such sheet-like material. Thanks to the above-mentioned features, single mattresses can be transported individually, thus extremely easily and quickly, and can be joined together for installation. This convenience also extends to the user, whenever for any reason they need to separate the mattresses and then reassemble them later. Further features and advantages of the invention will emerge from the following description with reference to the attached drawing, provided purely by way of non-limiting example, which illustrates an exploded perspective figure of two single mattresses equipped with the device according to the invention. With reference to the drawing, two single mattresses of any known type, for example of dimensions 200x90mm each, they are joined together using the device according to the invention. Each mattress (indicated by the reference number 1) has on one of its faces two Velcro strips 3, 4, 5, 6 which extend along all sides of the perimeter of said face 2. A padded blanket or quilt 7 is applied above the two mattresses, the lower face of which is provided with complementary Velcro strips or portions of strips (not visible in the drawing) which join with the Velcro strips arranged on the mattresses in such a way that the quilt 7 is stably secured to both faces of the two mattresses. In this assembled condition, the two mattresses 1 are kept in a juxtaposed condition and therefore become equivalent to a single double mattress. CLAIMS 1. A device for joining two single mattresses, characterised in that it comprises Velcro joining means (registered trademark) arranged along at least a substantial portion of the perimeter of one face of each mattress, and a sheet joining material, for example in the form of fabric or padded blanket, provided along corresponding portions of the perimeter of one of its faces with complementary Velcro coupling portions, suitable for cooperating with the Velcro portions provided on the mattresses to keep such mattresses joined by means of such sheet material.
