Marco Montebelli InfoCamere Qualified Electronic Signature CA Register Prot. n. 561 BM DESCRIPTION attached to the patent application for industrial invention entitled: "SELF-TAPPING AND SELF-DRILLING SCREW" in the name of: SYNERGHIA SERVICE Srl, of Sammarinese nationality, with Headquarters in Via Guardia di Rocca, 37 – 47899 SERRAVALLE (RSM) Designated Inventor: Mr. Bruno PIRAZZOLI The representative: Eng. Marco Montebelli, Via Vega n. 39 – 47923 Rimini (RN) Filed under no. * * * * * DESCRIPTION TEXT The present invention relates to a self-tapping screw and self-drilling. In the construction sector the use of screws is commonly widespread, cylindrical threaded organs. A screw is a simple machine, which is able to transform a circular motion impressed by an operator - which performs the screwing or unscrewing operation using a special tool tool called a screwdriver - in a straight line motion. The purpose of a screw is mainly that of fixing objects together. Screws, which usually comprise a head and a shank equipped with a thread, they can be of various types. Simple screws are the most common: they are screwed into the material to be fix by means of a thread, made of the same material to be fixed, complementary to that of the stem. This type of screw requires the creation preventive drilling of a threaded hole in the material to be fixed. S142.D1.IT.1 Eng. Marco Montebelli Register Prot. n. 561 BM Self-tapping screws generally comprise a shank with a end is tapered, so as to facilitate entry into the hole. This type of screws require the preliminary drilling of a hole, but not a preliminary threading of the same. Therefore, this type of screw is more easy to use. Self-drilling screws usually comprise a shank with a end is shaped like a point. This type of screw does not require the preventive drilling of holes in the material the screw will be used for. For this reason, this type of screw is even easier to use. Furthermore, there are different types of heads, each suitable for a different purpose. of the numerous uses of screws. The heads commonly used in trade are the cylindrical head, the button head, the round head, the head half round, flat flared head and tallow drop head. The self-tapping and self-drilling screws of the prior art have several inconveniences. For example, they can cause the damage to the material into which they are screwed and this can lead to a reduction in the structural resistance of the architecture. Furthermore, they have a tendency to unscrew due to the vibrations to which they are subjected materials into which they are screwed. Again, they require adequate tightening force, such as not to damage the material or cause the destruction of the vine itself. The aim of the present invention is therefore to overcome the the aforementioned inconveniences. S142.D1.IT.1 Eng. Marco Montebelli Register Prot. n. 561 BM The invention, as it is characterized by the claims, achieves this goal thanks to a structural modification in a screw self-tapping and self-drilling. The main advantage obtained by the present invention consists in the fact that the screw can be easily inserted into the target material, minimizing damage. Furthermore, the invention allows to obtain architectures having a adequate structural resistance. Furthermore, the invention allows to obtain solid and durable. Further advantages and features of the present invention will be more evident in the detailed description that follows, made with reference to the attached drawings, which represent an example of it performance limitation, where: - figure 1 shows a side view of the invention; - figure 2 shows a sectional view of the invention according to plane II- II of which in figure 1. Referring to figure 1, you can see a self-tapping screw 1 and self-drilling which comprises a shank 2 and a head 3. The head 3 is positioned at a first end 5 of the stem 2, while a second end 10 of the stem 2, opposite to the first end 5, is tapered. The stem 2 includes at least one thread 8. S142.D1.IT.1 Eng. Marco Montebelli Register Prot. n. 561 BM The second end 10 of the stem 2 of the screw 1 comprises a drill bit 11. Such drill bit 11 may comprise at least one portion cutting edge and / or at least a piercing portion. The presence of tip 11 facilitates the insertion of screw 1 into the target material, minimizing damage. Preferably, tip 11 can be selected from the group consisting of twist drills, milling drills and lance drills. For illustrative and non-limiting purposes, a screw is shown in the attached figures 1 comprising a helical type tip 11. Preferably, the thread 8, present on the stem 2, does not interferes with tip 11. This further facilitates the piercing action of screw 1, followed by the threading action. Furthermore, such thread 8 may comprise a first plurality of ridges 22, wherein at least one ridge 22 is sharp. This allows easy creation of the complementary thread in the material to be screw. Furthermore, the thread 8 may comprise a second plurality of crests 24, having an external diameter smaller than that of the first plurality of crests 22. In this case, crests 22, 24 next may belong alternatively to the first plurality of crests 22 and to the second plurality of crests 24. Therefore, on the stem 2 there is an alternation of a crest 22 having larger external diameter and a crest 24 having external diameter lower, and so on. Also the crests 24 of the second plurality of crests 24 they can be sharp. S142.D1.IT.1 Eng. Marco Montebelli Register Prot. n. 561 BM Further, the crests 22, 24 of the first plurality of crests 22 or of the second plurality of crests 24 may comprise at least one groove 20. This groove 20 allows for convenient removal of the chip that is created when screw 1 makes the hole. To make such removal even more effective, crests 22, 24 subsequent can include grooves 20 staggered in space. By way of example and non-limiting, figure 2 shows a section of screw 1 in which they are three grooves 20 are visible, spaced 120° apart. Preferably, the head 3 of the screw 1 consists of a head 3 a collar. This collar head 3 advantageously limits the depth of the screw 1in the installation. The screw 1 according to the invention therefore allows to obtain architectures having adequate structural resistance and solid anchors and durable.
