AI Technical Summary
Existing valves for pressurized fluids, particularly hydrogen, face challenges in manufacturing ease, excessive stress on sealing elements, and stability due to high operating pressures, especially during opening and closing phases.
A valve design featuring a first and second shutter system with a compensation chamber, where the first shutter slides along an actuation axis, and an actuator body moves the second shutter to open and close the valve seat, reducing torque requirements and stress by allowing pressure equilibrium during opening.
The design reduces stress on sealing elements and moving components, enhances stability, and ensures long-lasting operation by minimizing the forces needed to open the valve, optimizing flow characteristics and assembly.
Description
Valve for pressurized fluids DESCRIPTION Technical scope The present invention relates to a valve for fluids under pressure, in 5 special valves for H under pressure. Technological background In the field of hydrogen storage and distribution systems, the following are well known: technical difficulties arising from the need to operate at high pressures exercise. 10 One aspect that may be critical concerns in particular the opening phases and closing of shut-off valves intended for use in systems for distribution or in association with a tank and cylinders of hydrogen or other fluids intended to be stored at high pressure. Valves for such applications, such as the one described in 15 CN114321391A, typically include an inlet duct, a duct of exit and a shutter capable of intercepting a passage between the two ducts. The shutter is operated by a stem connected to a control organ, for example manual, that is, made up of a rotating handwheel. 20 The high operating pressures make the conditions particularly critical to which the sealing organs must operate. In particular, the sealing in correspondence of the stem to which the control organ is connected must be able to withstand the stresses resulting from the action of the liquid flow under pressure during its passage between inlet and outlet, as well as those 25 which are determined during the opening and closing phase of the shutter. Therefore, in the technical sector of reference, the need remains to have a valve for pressurized fluids, in particular for H , improved both from the point of view from the viewpoint of the shutter conformation and flow characteristics which determines which of the materials used to make the actuator. 5 Description of the invention The problem underlying the present invention is to put a provision of a valve for pressurized fluids functionally designed for overcome, at least in part, the limitations mentioned above with reference to the technique Note. 10 In the context of this problem, it is an object of the invention to provide a valve for pressurized fluids that is easy to manufacture and implement. A further aim of the invention is to provide a valve whose use does not cause excessive stress on the sealing elements and in general of the moving components of the valve. 15 Finally, an additional purpose of the invention is to provide a valve particularly stable during use and long-lasting. In its first aspect, this problem is at least partially solved and one or most of these purposes are at least partly achieved by a fluid valve under pressure comprising a valve body including an inlet, 20 an outlet and an outflow duct which connects said inlet with said exit. The valve further comprises a valve seat arranged along said outflow duct, a first shutter and a second shutter. Preferably, the first shutter and / or the second shutter is / are 25 configured to open and close said valve seat respectively by moving away and approaching, along an axis of actuation, to a defined striking surface in said valve seat. The valve comprises an actuator body, preferably connected to said second shutter. Preferably, the actuator body is configured in 5 such a way as to operate said first shutter and / or said second shutter in opening and closing of said valve seat. Preferably, said first shutter defines a chamber compensation within which a portion of the said is housed second shutter in such a way as to support said first shutter with 10 sliding capacity along said actuation axis. Preferably, the first shutter includes a communication channel that connects the compensation chamber with the valve outlet. The communication channel advantageously defines a section of passage of lower extension than a corresponding section of 15 passage of said outflow duct at said location valve. The actuator body is preferably configured to move in the direction of opening said second shutter, freeing said communication channel and, once said communication channel is opened, drag said first 20 shutter in the opening direction, away from said surface of joke. Preferably, said first shutter comprises at least one passage configured to put said clearing house in communication with said entrance. 25 Advantageously, the valve according to the present invention allows to to go from a condition of no flow through the duct to valve flow to a flow condition, passing through a phase of compensation in which the opening movement occurs with respect to surfaces of reduced extension, thus allowing the forces at play to be limited 5 at this stage. The torque that is necessary to apply to obtain the opening of the valve seat is therefore reduced compared to known solutions, reducing as a consequence of the stresses deriving from the valve opening cycles. The sliding ability of the first shutter relative to the second shutter allows for the valve seat to be completely opened once 10 that a pressure equilibrium has been reached inside the valve seat, thus limiting the forces required to open the valve to only contact friction between the actuating parts. The presence of the passage configured to place the chamber compensation in communication with the input allows to balance in 15 optimally regulates the pressures in the valve seat during the opening phase of the valve. The present invention may also feature one or more of the following: favorite features in addition to those previously mentioned. Preferably, the first shutter comprises a main body, 20 preferably substantially cylindrical, in which said chamber is defined of compensation, and a plugging end tapered towards a vertex defined in correspondence with said implementation axis. These shapes allow to optimize the space, making it easy to the structure can be assembled and the flows can be optimised during the opening phases of the 25 valve. Preferably, said communication channel is positioned in correspondence of the said vertex, making the structure more symmetrical and allowing for the prediction of an isostatic constraint system. In some embodiments, the second shutter comprises 5 a connecting end rotatably connected to said actuator body. Thanks to this feature, the shutter rotation is avoided during the shutter release. opening and closing, thus limiting wear and tear in general. Preferably, the actuator body is connected to said valve body via threading in such a way as to transform a rotary motion of said body 10 actuator in a translational motion along said actuation axis. Advantageously, said connecting end is configured in a manner such as to release said second shutter from the rotary motion of said body actuator during said translational motion along said actuation axis. In this way, the valve actuation can be done 15 simply by means of a handwheel, a generic device or tool or by means of a motorized rotary actuation system. Preferably, said second shutter comprises a stem and a head, said head includes a closing member configured to close said communication channel. This structure also contributes to improving 20 the isostatic nature of the closing system. In some embodiments said stem and said connecting end They have a substantially cylindrical shape, having said end of connection a diameter greater than said stem and, wherein said stem It comprises an integral shoulder with it, which extends into a ring 25 around the said stem. Preferably, there is a sealing element positioned between said shoulder and said second shutter. Preferably, said element of seal is movable along said actuation axis, between said shoulder and said second shutter. In some embodiments the sealing element 5 comprises a counter body, arranged in proximity to said shoulder and a pair of lips extending divergently from said abutment body, in such a way that a fluid under pressure in said valve seat tends to to push said lips away from each other. In this way the characteristics of the valve, in particular the presence of the 10 two shutters can be appropriately exploited to ensure a seal optimal in the opening phase. According to a further aspect, said sealing element comprises a reinforcing element arranged between said lips. Preferably, the body of the feedback and said lips are made of plastic material and said element 15 reinforcement is made of metal material. Thanks to these characteristics it is possible to improve the resistance of the element sealing and general reliability of the valve. In some embodiments the first shutter is made of material plastic. In this way the construction of the valve can be simplified 20 and its assembly. In some embodiments the passage is in the form of a slot which extends substantially parallel to the said axis of implementation. This allows for a simple construction of the structure, which it can therefore be advantageously obtained in plastic material. 25 Preferably, the pressurized fluid considered is H under pressure, at state gaseous and / or liquid depending on the thermal condition. The features and advantages of the invention will become clearer later. from the detailed description of one of his favorite examples of implementation, illustrated for illustrative and non-limiting purposes with reference to the attached drawings, 5 in which: - Figure 1 is a perspective view of a valve according to the invention; - Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view of a valve according to Figure 1; - figure 3 is a transparent view of said figure 2; 10 - Figure 4 is a side view of an exploded section of said valve; - figure 5 is a perspective view in section of an exploded view of a particular of the said valve; - figure 6 is a side sectional view of said valve; - figures 6a, 6b and 6c are three detailed views, according to a section 15 transverse, of the valve seat of the valve of the present invention; - figure 7 is a perspective view of an exploded view of a particular of said valve; and - figure 8 is a transparent perspective view of a detail of said valve. 20 With reference to the enclosed figures, 1 indicates a total valve in accordance with the present invention. Figure 1 shows a valve 1 for pressurized fluids which comprises, typically, a valve body 2 including an outflow duct 3, visible for example in figure 4, extended between an input 1a set up for the connection to a container containing a pressurized fluid, such as for example a gas cylinder, and an outlet 1b set up for the connection to a device capable of receiving such fluid. In some embodiments, as can be seen for example in the figure 5 6, the output 1b comprises two portions: a first portion 11a, configured to connect valve 1, for example, with a pipe, and a second portion 11b, in correspondence with which a striking surface is defined for a valve shutter, as will be illustrated in more detail in follow. Preferably, both portions have a cylindrical shape, with 10 the first portion 11a of greater diameter than the second portion 11b. The outlet 1b may also include a connecting portion 11c arranged between said first 11a and said second 11b portion. Input 1a is configured as an input channel 111b, preferably also cylindrical in shape. The input channel 111b configured for 15 connect valve 1 with a connection fitting of a container in pressure, for example via a threaded connection or, for example by inserting it around external walls 112b of the inlet channel 111b. The valve 1 comprises, in its most general embodiments, a valve body 2 hosting an outflow duct 3, which extends between said 20 inlet 1a and said outlet 1b, and a valve seat 4 arranged in the duct of outflow 3 itself. Note that the valve seat 4 defines a first area 3a of the outflow duct 3 upstream of the valve seat 4 and a second zone 3b downstream of valve seat 4. The valve 1 also comprises a first shutter 5 and a second 25 shutter 6 configured to open and close said seat valve 4, and an actuator body 7 capable of moving relative to said seat valve 4 along an X-axis, also referred to below as the actuation axis X. The actuator body 7 allows the first 5 and the second 6 to be moved shutter to open and close said valve seat 4 via feedback on 5 a striking surface 12, according to the modalities described in greater detail to follow. As visible in figures 4, 5 and 6 the first shutter 5 defines a chamber of compensation 5a which houses a portion of said second shutter 6, also identified as head 6b, providing for a capacity of 10 movement of the latter along the X-axis. In other words, the connection between the first shutter 5 and the second shutter 6 are made in such a way that the first shutter 5 can make limited movements with respect to the second shutter 6 along the direction defined by axis 5. As can be seen from figures 4, 5 and 6, the first shutter 5 comprises 15 a main body 5e, substantially cylindrical, in which a compensation chamber 5a, and a tapered obturator end 5d towards a vertex defined at the said implementation axis X. Advantageously, the 5d obturator end has a substantially conical. 20 The first shutter 5 also defines a communication channel 5b which connects the compensation chamber 5a with the said second zone 3b, i.e. the one downstream of valve seat 4. The communication channel 5b is preferably positioned at of the vertex of said 5d conical obturation end. 25 In some embodiments the compensation chamber 5a has a shape discoidal, with rounded external walls. On the main body 5e is also defined a 5g access portion that extends between the chamber compensation 5a and a base 5h of the main body 5e. Preferably, the 5G access portion also has a shape 5 substantially cylindrical. As can be seen from figures 4, 5, 6, 6a, 6b and 6c, in forms of preferred embodiment the second shutter 6 comprises a stem 6a and a head 6b with a truncated cone shape, housed in the chamber compensation 5a and configured to close communication channel 5b. 10 In some embodiments the head 6b has decreasing diameter approaching the striking surface 12. The stem 6a has a cylindrical shape with a diameter smaller than that of the head 6b at a connection section between head 6b and stem 6a. Preferably, the head 6b includes a closing element 6c, in the form of 15 protuberance, configured to be partially inserted into said channel communication 5b to close the same when said head 6b is in stop on the said first shutter 5. According to the embodiments shown in the figures, the closing element 6c is a conical element, integral with said head 6b which has a base diameter 20 greater than or equal to the diameter of said communication channel 5b, so as to ensure it closes when valve 1 is closed. Advantageously, the truncated cone shape of the 6b head facilitates insertion of the head 6b into the first obturator 5 through the access portion 5g. Note that the second shutter 6, once the head 6b, or more in 25 generally a relative connecting portion, is housed in the chamber of compensation 5a, can make limited movements along the actuation axis X inside the airlock 5a. The movements are however bound by the first shutter 5. In fact, the clearing chamber 5a includes a check 5c suitable for 5 find the head 6b when the second shutter 6 moves along the axis of implementation X. This also allows you to drag the first shutter 5 by translation of the actuator body 7 to fully open the valve seat 4. The 5c countersink is preferably made as an annular recess in which 10 a portion of head 6b is housed distal to the end of head 6b intended to fit into the first shutter 5. Once the head portion 6b meets the main body 5e at the check 5c, the second shutter 6 is movable along a second section, moving the first shutter 5 along the actuation axis X and opening 15 completely valve 1. In some embodiments the first shutter 5 is made of material plastic. Preferably, the first shutter 5 further comprises at least one passage 5f, and more preferably a plurality of passages, made on the body 20 main 5e configured to communicate the chamber compensation with the 1a input, or more generally with the first 3a zone. The 5f steps can be made in the form of a slot and can extend substantially parallel to the X-axis of implementation. For this purpose, slots can be defined in the said first shutter 5 25 which connect room 5a with the first zone 3a. More generally, therefore, when the first shutter 5 is supported in correspondence of the striking surface 12, such as in the configuration of figure 6, input 1a and output 1b can be put in communication through communication channel 5b, the chamber of 5 compensation 5a and steps 5f. Figures 6, 6a, 6b and 6c illustrate the different configurations that the two shutters they take during the opening of the valve. In closed valve condition, communication channel 5b is blocked via the second shutter 6. 10 Also from figure 6 it is possible to observe that the communication channel 5b defines a cross-section of smaller extension than a corresponding cross-section of the outflow duct 3. The opening and closing of the valve is achieved by the actuator body 7 which is advantageously configured to move with respect to said seat 15 valve 4 between a closed position, in which the first shutter 5 closes the outflow duct 3, leaving only the passage through defined the communication channel 5b, which in turn is closed by the second shutter 6, preventing a flow of fluid into the outflow duct 3, and a open position, in which such a passage is permitted. 20 This open position, illustrated in figure 6b, is however reached by two operational phases. In the first instance, in fact, the movement of the actuator body 7 along the X-axis, in the direction away from the abutment surface 12, determines a corresponding movement of the second shutter 6 along 25 the X-axis, allowing fluid flow through the communication channel 5b and the airlock 5a. As illustrated above, the first shutter 5 is movable along the X-axis with a second excursion of the actuator 7, driven by the second shutter 6, so as to create a flow of fluid exiting from said valve 1. 5 In summary, in an opening phase, the actuator body 7 and the second shutter moves along the said X-axis away from the channel communication 5b and in general from the second zone 3b. Moving in moving away from this area, the actuator body 7 moves the second shutter 6 opening the communication channel 5b. The second 10 shutter 6, moving away from the striking surface 12 runs through a first section free from the first shutter 5 and a second stroke by moving, by dragging, also the first shutter 5 in moving away from the striking surface 12. In order to transmit the movement of the actuator body 7 per second 15 shutter 6, the latter may comprise a connecting end 6d connectable with actuator body 7. In some embodiments, the actuator body 7 comprises a thread and said valve body 2 comprises a counter-thread in in such a way that a rotational movement of the body is transformed 20 actuator 7 in a translational motion along the X-axis. The connecting end 6d is rotatably connected to the actuator body 7 such that the stem 6a is released from the rotary motion of the actuator body 7 itself. Preferably, the connecting end 6d has a shape substantially cylindrical with a diameter greater than said stem 6a and, the 25 stem 6a includes a shoulder 6e integral therewith, which extends like a ring around said stem 6a. With reference to figures 3 and 4, it can be observed that in embodiments prefer valve seat 4 comprises three sections: a first section of cylindrical-shaped actuation 4a in which the actuator body 7 is movable, a 5 second sliding section 4b of cylindrical shape with smaller diameter with respect to the actuation section 4a, in which they are slidably housed said first 5 and second 6 shutter, a flow section 4c also of cylindrical shape with a diameter greater than said sliding section 4a of of which the said first shutter 5 determines the opening or closing. 10 In fact, the flow section 4c faces the outlet 1b and is connected fluid dynamically with the same when valve 1 is open. When valve 1 is closed, the first shutter 5 is in contact with the surface of strike 12 which is defined in correspondence with said flow section 4c. In In particular, when valve 1 is closed, the first shutter 5 is in contact 15 with a perimeter region of the second exit portion 11b in correspondence of flow section 4c. Flow section 4c communicates fluid-dynamically with the inlet channel 111b. In preferred embodiments, between the shoulder 6e and the actuator body 20 7, the valve 1 comprises a sealing element 8. The sealing element 8 is positioned between said shoulder 6e and said second shutter 6. Preferably, said sealing element 8 is movable along said actuation axis X, between said shoulder 6e and said second shutter 6. In preferred embodiments, the gasket 8 comprises a body of 25 counter 8a, placed near the shoulder 6e and a pair of lips 8b which extend divergently from the abutment body 8a, in a manner such that a pressurized fluid in said valve seat 4 tends to stress them in removal. In some embodiments, a reinforcing element 8c is also present. 5 arranged between said lips 8b. Advantageously the abutment body 8a and the 8b lips can be made of plastic material while the element of 8c reinforcement is made of metal material. The actuator body 7 comprises a housing end 7a which meets a wall of the valve seat 4 and comprises an opening of 10 connection 7b shaped in such a way as to allow insertion of the connecting end 6d during assembly of said valve 1. The shoulder 6e preferably has a diameter that matches said wall of said valve seat 4 so as to remain in the end of housing 7a once the stem 6a and the actuator 7 are inserted into the 15 valve seat 4. In order to actuate the valve, the actuator body 7 comprises a portion of implementation 7c, illustrated in figure 5, which can be coupled with a control organ transmission of a force suitable for making valve 1 pass from position open to closed position and vice versa. 20 The actuation portion 7c is preferably made as a cavity polygonal obtained in the actuator body 7 at one end of implementation 7d distal to said connecting end 6d. In correspondence with the polygonal cavity, the actuator body 7 may have a reduction in diameter which creates a gap 77, visible in figure 6, 25 between a wall of the actuation section 4a and one of its walls, to allow to accommodate an auxiliary guide 9 preferably in material self-lubricating. To seal the valve seat 4, the valve 1 may comprise an additional sealing element 10 (figure 6) which connects the actuation end 7d with 5 an edge of said valve body 2 and extends inside the cavity 77 between the auxiliary guide 9 and a wall of the valve body 2. Naturally, a person skilled in the art will be able to apply the invention described above to provide, in order to satisfy specific and contingent needs applications, further modifications and variations which in any case fall within the scope of 10 protection as defined in the claims that follow.
