Abstract

This article is an in-vehicle camera for detecting the state of the driver, for example, whether the driver is seated and the face and line of sight of the driver. This camera is composed of a housing and a camera body housed in the housing. As shown in the "reference front view", a substantially rectangular opening is provided in the center of the front side of the housing (hatched area), and as shown in the "front view", the opening is covered with a protective film. The protective film is a part of the camera body, and an imaging element is provided on the back side of the protective film. For example, in the case of a right-hand drive vehicle, this article is used with the front facing the driver and at an angle that allows the driver's eyes to be detected, as shown in the "reference front oblique view showing the usage state", with the left side attached to the instrument panel or car navigation system by a bracket or the like. Note that when this article is attached to a left-hand drive vehicle, it is symmetrical.
