Display unit

Abstract

The article of the present design is a small display unit that uses tiny LED elements as a light source. While it can function alone, it is typically assembled with multiple units. Combining many units creates a relatively large screen, and a small screen can also be constructed with a few units. The article of the present design includes a layer (hereinafter referred to as the "decorative layer") that is colored and decorated with various graphical elements to be visible on the screen, and a small opening is formed around the LED elements that serve as the light source. Therefore, as shown in the reference diagram showing an example of an embodiment, when the article of the present design is not energized, only the decoration on the decorative layer is visible, and when energized, only the image projected on the display is visible (in the reference enlarged view of part CC, the area indicated by the leader line 1 is the opening, 2 is the display surface, 3 is the LED elements, and 4 is the surface of the decorative layer). Thus, the article of the present design functions as a display device for projecting images and other content, and as a decorative material embedded in the interior walls of buildings, vehicles, etc. There are various specific usage scenarios, but for example, if it is embedded in the dashboard of a passenger car and used as a display for a navigation device, there will be no need to install a dedicated display, and there will be more freedom in the configuration of the interior space of the car.
