Abstract
Currently, efforts to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are underway worldwide to prevent global warming. The widespread adoption of bicycles is a key factor in this effort. As a form of transportation, bicycles are powered by human power and emit no CO2 gas. Other transportation vehicles, such as transport vehicles, use chemical fuels and emit significant amounts of carbon dioxide. The widespread adoption of bicycles will likely contribute to a cleaner global environment. The bicycle was invented in the mid-19th century and has undergone various improvements, resulting in the current bicycle in use worldwide. While initially made of wood, advances in materials have led to more robust frames. However, structural changes have remained minimal, and existing unicycles and children's tricycles still retain traces of their original design. The saddle, too, has existed for a long time and retains a structure close to its original form. Other bicycle components have evolved significantly, becoming more durable. When riding a bicycle, the key factor is how well it supports the rider's weight for a smooth ride. That's the role of a saddle. Current saddles are identical in structure for everyone, from young children to the elderly. Because people's physiques (leg lengths) vary, saddles of various shapes and sizes should be manufactured to suit the user's age. Bicycles are primarily categorized into general-purpose bicycles, sports bicycles, and keirin (racing bicycles). Because general-purpose bicycles require frequent starting and stopping in congested urban areas, the drive saddle is positioned high enough to allow both feet to touch the ground. However, in areas where high-speed touring is possible, raising the saddle by about 10 cm from the normal position maximizes driving force, resulting in a more agile ride. Furthermore, by operating the lift cylinder, both feet can touch the ground without removing your hips from the saddle when descending and stopping, ensuring a safe stopping position. Wider saddle shapes are also possible, undoubtedly reducing the strain on the lower back during long-distance touring. We can expect to see the widespread adoption of "personal saddle posts" tailored to each cyclist's individual needs and body shape.
