Collar cover with fasteners

Abstract

This item is a collar cover designed to be worn over the collar attached to the base collar of a kimono undergarment. Because it does not require sewing, it can be easily removed. The collar is prone to soiling due to contact with the neck during wear and is the most visible part of the garment, located below the face. However, replacing it previously required sewing, which was time-consuming and required advanced sewing skills, causing frustration for kimono wearers. While safety pins were sometimes used as a substitute, this was dangerous and risked damaging the collar fabric. However, the fasteners on this item are designed to be gentle on kimono, ensuring safety and peace of mind. Furthermore, the fasteners are already attached, allowing for quick and easy attachment without the need for sewing. It can also be used to change the look of the collar, enabling the use of thin, ornate single-layer fabrics such as lace, which were previously unsuitable. This item is a strip of fabric identical in shape to a collar, with a reinforcing fabric sewn along one of its long, lower edges. Furthermore, fasteners are attached to the surface of the reinforcing fabric of the garment, allowing them to be inserted into the seams where the collar of the han-eri (collar lining) of the kimono undergarment is sewn. The fasteners are positioned at one location in the center of the garment's longitudinal direction, one at each side symmetrically from that point, and one at each end. In this way, we provide a completely new han-eri cover with fasteners for kimono accessories that is easy to use and highly convenient.
