Abstract

This article is a base for a gravestone, on which a gravestone is placed to form a grave. This article includes a wall portion surrounding a site, a base foundation portion covering the site surrounded by the wall portion and located on the site, and a base portion with a substantially black side that is located on the top surface of the base foundation portion and serves as a base for the gravestone. The space surrounded by the inside side surface of the wall portion and the top surface of the base foundation portion is a water-storable portion, and the water-storable portion has a water-storage function due to the overall shape of the base portion of the gravestone. In addition, the side surface of the water-storable portion, i.e., the inside side surface of the wall portion and the top surface of the base foundation portion, are substantially black. When this article is in use, a gravestone is placed on the base portion and water is stored in the water-storable portion. This article clearly reflects the gravestone on the water surface to an observer by storing water in the water-storable portion, and by the side surface of the water-storable portion being substantially black and the side surface of the base portion being substantially black (water surface reflection image in reference perspective view 2). In addition, the clear reflection of the water surface and the base with its nearly black sides give the viewer of the product the impression that the tombstone (direct image in reference perspective view 2) is floating on the water. Furthermore, the sides of the base are nearly black, and the size of the base is about the same as the bottom of the lowest part of the tombstone. Therefore, the color of the base's sides does not affect the clear reflection of the tombstone on the water surface, and the base allows the tombstone to be stably placed. Furthermore, the product is equipped with an approach section at the front of the product, a wall section with a wall section protrusion formed on the front side of the wall section, and an observation space with no step relative to the approach section formed by the wall section protrusion. When using the product, the height of the approach section is set to GL (ground level) (see reference perspective views 1 and 2) or to GL so that the difference with GL is as small as possible. Therefore, anyone, including wheelchair users, can easily reach the observation space, and in the observation space, the entire grave can be observed from a position close to the gravestone, particularly from a close distance where the entire gravestone image is easily visible due to the reflection on the water surface just below the gravestone, and can be observed surrounded by water stored in the water storage area. These are the intended uses of this item. Reference perspective diagram 1 showing the usage state shows the state in which this item is installed in the grave so that the approach part is at ground level height, and the gravestone (the dashed line part on the base part) is installed on the pedestal of this item.Reference Oblique View 2, which shows the state of use, further shows the state in which water (the light gray part shown in Reference Oblique View 2 but not in Reference Oblique View 1) is stored in the water-storable portion of the article, and also shows the direct image of the gravestone and the reflected image on the water surface observed in the observation space by an observer who is actually a wheelchair user. Reference Oblique View 1, which shows the state of use, and Reference Oblique View 2, which shows the state of use, also show the names of each part (including the names of the dashed parts that are not components of the design).
