Abstract

This article is a sheet pressing nail that, when driven into the ground, presses a sheet such as a weed control sheet against the ground via a pressing plate that is engaged by the head at the upper end. A retaining protrusion is provided continuously in the length direction of the shaft at the lower part of the shaft, the retaining protrusion being formed by integrally connecting a first tapered shaft portion, which increases in diameter from the lower end to the upper end, to the upper end of the first tapered shaft portion, which decreases in diameter from the lower end to the upper end. When a pull-out force acts on this article while it is driven into the ground, the soil held by the step formed between the upper and lower retaining protrusions effectively resists the pull-out of the article. This article has a total length of 150 to 200 mm, and the vertical length of the retaining protrusion is 2 mm.
