Ashes storage container

Abstract

This container is a receptacle for storing divided remains. It consists of a roughly cylindrical main body and a transparent cover that covers the top of the main body. A male thread is formed on the outer periphery of the lower end of the cover, which can be threaded into a female thread on the top of the main body to secure the cover to the main body. A base for placing the remains is provided on the top of the main body. The base is surrounded by ornaments resembling six lotus leaves, and a recess is formed between the six ornaments and the top of the base. When in use, the remains are placed in this recess and the cover is then placed on top. A vertically shaped posthumous name plate is provided near the rear of the top of the base, on which a posthumous name or other inscription can be engraved. The height of this container is approximately 50 mm and width is approximately 30 mm, making it suitable for storing small remains such as those found on the Adam's apple. The divided remains are stored in this container and then enshrined in a Buddhist altar or other setting. The transparent cover allows the remains to be viewed from the outside.
