Sealing material

Abstract

The present article is a sealing member disposed on a nut or the like of a ball screw. As shown in the reference rear view showing the cover member, the present article includes a cover member having a cylindrical frame portion and an annular plate-shaped support portion disposed on one end of the frame portion. Furthermore, as shown in the enlarged cross-sectional view along line AA, an annular sealing material is disposed within the frame portion of the cover member. Referring to the reference oblique view showing the state of use, the sealing material is disposed so that its inner circumferential surface contacts the screw shaft, preventing foreign matter from entering the nut. The inner circumferential surface of the sealing material may be formed by a fiber layer in which a large number of fibers are disposed so as to contact the screw shaft. The cover member includes a first member and a second member. The first member and the second member can be attached to any part of the screw shaft by detaching their boundary portions. The present article can also be used by stacking another sealing member or another supporting member on the axial outside.
