Medical Tube Fixing Tape

Abstract

This product is a tape for securing medical tubes such as catheters and drains to a patient's skin. As shown in the [Reference AA Enlarged View Showing the Names of Each Part] and [Reference Front View Showing the Names of Each Part], this medical tube securing tape consists of a stretchable film, a tube holding tape, a pair of left and right end release papers, and a center release paper. The stretchable film has a film body and an adhesive layer. The tube holding tape has a tape body and an adhesive layer, and the tape body is attached to the center (bridge portion and arm portion) of the adhesive layer of the stretchable film. The pair of end release papers respectively cover the left and right ends (attachment portions) of the adhesive layer of the stretchable film. The sides of these end release papers facing the tube holding tape are each formed linearly. The center release paper covers the adhesive layer of the tube holding tape and the portion of the adhesive layer of the stretchable film not covered by the end release papers (exposed portion). The user of this device first peels off the central release paper and then applies one of the left and right arms of the tube retention tape and one of the left and right exposed portions of the stretch film to the patient's skin via the adhesive layer, as shown in Reference Perspective Figure 1 (showing the state of use). At this time, the bridge portion of the tube retention tape is folded back and not attached to the skin. Next, as shown in Reference Perspective Figure 2 (showing the state of use), the bridge portion of the tube retention tape is applied by wrapping it around the circumference of the medical tube, and then the other of the left and right exposed portions of the stretch film is applied to the patient's skin. At this time, as shown in the enlarged cross-sectional view along line BB, the adhesive surfaces of the tube retention tape are bonded together below the medical tube to form legs, and the other of the left and right arms of the tube retention tape is applied over the one of the left and right arms, as shown in the enlarged cross-sectional view along line CC. Finally, after peeling off the release paper at both ends, the left and right ends of the stretch film are applied to the patient's skin via the adhesive layer, as shown in Reference Perspective Figure 3 (showing the state of use).
