Egg preservation container

Abstract

The article relating to the present design (hereinafter referred to as "the Article") is an egg storage container that comprises a bottomed, substantially rectangular cylindrical container that receives the egg white at the bottom, a lid that can be opened and closed to close an opening that opens at the top of the container, and a yolk tray that is detachably attached to the container to receive the yolk, and is capable of storing the egg white that separates when the egg yolk is received by the yolk tray. The container of the Article has a peripheral flange that extends outward from the periphery of the opening over its entire circumference, and an annular projection that protrudes upward over its entire circumference, leaving the inner periphery intact, at a position closer to the inside of the peripheral flange. The lid of this article is formed in a bottomed, substantially rectangular cylindrical shape and has a fitting piece with a substantially U-shaped cross-section that extends in an annular manner over the entire circumferential direction of the periphery, such that its inner circumferential surface fits from above onto both the inner and outer sides of the projection of the container, and the lower end of the outer circumferential portion of this fitting piece abuts against the outer periphery of the periphery flange of the container, which is outside the projection, to hold it in a closed state. The yolk tray of this article comprises a substantially square tray body with one side approximately equal to the length of the short side of the container, a substantially hemispherical yolk receiving portion recessed in the tray body to receive the yolk of a cracked egg, a notched groove cut along the circumferential surface of the yolk receiving portion to allow the egg white of a cracked egg to flow from the yolk receiving portion to the bottom of the container, and a projection piece protruding from the center of one side of the tray body, and the three sides of the tray body excluding one side, and the tip of the projection piece abut against the inner periphery of the periphery flange of the container from above, thereby locking it to the periphery of the opening. The way to use this product is to drop a cracked egg onto the yolk receiving section, so that the yolk is caught in the yolk receiving section, and the egg white flows down to the bottom of the container through the notched groove, allowing the egg white separated from the yolk to be preserved.
