Needle stick protection device

Abstract

The article relating to the present design is an auxiliary device for preventing needle stick injuries when recapping used hypodermic needles. Specifically, as shown in the reference cross-sectional view of the usage state, a hole located in the center of the flange portion formed at the upper end leads to a hollow cylindrical body below. The device is used to insert and hold the hypodermic needle case into the hollow cylindrical body through this hole, and then insert the used hypodermic needle from above to recap it into the hypodermic needle case. On both sides of the hollow cylindrical body, there are tongue-shaped openings that face downwards, allowing them to pivot around the lower edge as an axis. With the hypodermic needle case inserted through the hole, the tongue-shaped openings can be pressed from the outside with the fingers to securely hold the side walls of the hypodermic needle case with the tongue-shaped openings.
