Abstract
The cap for hex socket head bolts relating to this article is fitted onto the head of a hex socket head bolt, as shown in the reference perspective view illustrating the state of use, and consists of an outer cylinder portion that covers the outer circumferential surface of the peripheral wall portion that constitutes the head, a top portion that extends from the outer cylinder portion in a manner that covers the hex socket, and an inner cylinder portion erected on the top portion on the same side as the outer cylinder portion. As shown in the reference cross-sectional view 1 illustrating the state of use, the outer cylinder portion and the inner cylinder portion are arranged so as to sandwich the peripheral wall portion, with the inner circumferential surface of the outer cylinder portion in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the peripheral wall portion and the outer circumferential surface of the inner cylinder portion in contact with the inner circumferential surface of the peripheral wall portion. When a cap for a socket head cap is placed over the head of a socket head cap bolt and pushed in, the inner cylinder portion comes into contact with the outer edge of the opening of the hex socket at the outer edge of its tip. If it is pushed further forward from this position, the outer cylinder portion expands in diameter as it is pushed against the circumferential wall of the socket head cap bolt, accompanied by internal expansion and contraction of the cross-section at the top, and the reaction force acts from the inner surface to the outer surface of the circumferential wall portion. At the same time, the inner cylinder portion contracts in diameter as it is pushed against the circumferential wall of the socket head cap bolt, accompanied by internal expansion and contraction of the cross-section at the top, and the reaction force due to this contraction acts from the outer surface to the inner surface of the circumferential wall portion.
