Oil splatter guard

Abstract

This product is an oil splatter prevention cover designed to suppress oil splatter that occurs during cooking on hot plates, grills, etc. It is positioned along the outer circumference of the cooking utensil to prevent oil from scattering and to allow for the safe and smooth collection of oil that has splattered inside. The product has a circular ring as its basic shape, and its diameter is adjustable according to the size of the cooking utensil being used, with a structure in which parts of the ring overlap and expand and contract. Furthermore, to prevent these overlapping parts from shrinking excessively, it is equipped with a stopper-like structure that regulates the minimum diameter, ensuring an appropriate range of use. In addition, short handles are provided on the left and right sides of the upper end of the ring's side. These handles are formed to a certain length from the upper end and do not reach the lower end of the side, thus maintaining a distance from the lower part close to the heat source, making it difficult for heat from the grill to be directly transferred, and allowing for safe lifting and position adjustment. A U-shaped notch is also formed on the lower side of the ring. This notch serves as an oil drainage function, allowing oil that splashes and adheres to the inside of the ring during cooking to naturally flow onto the griddle or drip tray. It also functions as a guide for stable placement of the product by fitting into the side protrusions (steps) found on some hot plates. Since the product is circular and has no openings on the sides, no gaps will occur due to its shape.
