Abstract

The article covered by this design registration is a set of parts for improving the durability of folding bicycles, consisting of a combination of a rod-shaped part and a lid-shaped part that are attached to the inside of the hinge part in the center of a folding bicycle (circle in Reference Figure A), and is made up of two sets, one for the rear wheel side and one for the front wheel side. It utilizes a hole (arrow in Reference Figure B) that leads to the inside of the main frame inside the hinge, and one end of the rod-shaped part, which is thick and shaped to pass through this hole, is screwed from the outside to its side and the bottom surface of the rear wheel side frame, and the other end face is screwed to the lid-shaped part, sandwiching the hinge hole. Similarly, the front wheel side is screwed to the bottom surface of the frame and to the hole in the hinge on the opposite side. These "direct connections," in addition to "welding," are characterized by a structure that greatly improves the durability of the joint between the hinge and the frame. The assembly procedure for this item is as follows: First, the rod-shaped part and the lid-shaped part are loosely joined by lightly tightening them together. Then, the other end of the rod-shaped part is inserted into the round hole below the hinge. Align the screw tapped hole on the side of the rod-shaped part with the screw hole on the bottom of the frame, and secure it firmly with a screw from the outside. Finally, the screw on the lid-shaped part, which was initially loosely tightened, is tightened firmly. The front wheel side is assembled in the same procedure, and the assembly of the entire parts set is completed as shown in the assembly cross-section diagram in Reference Diagram D, indicated by X-X' in Reference Diagram C. Since these screws will not be loosened or tightened again afterward, it is advisable to use threadlocker or threadlocker screws.
