Rim frame for food packaging containers

Abstract

This article is a rim frame for a food packaging container used to store processed foods, etc. The rim frame is formed by unfolding a frame material of foamed plastic in a folded state as shown in Reference Figure 1, and as can be seen in the cross-sectional view of line AA, grooves are formed around the entire circumference of the upper part of the inner surface of the frame material. Then, as shown in the reference assembly diagram, a simple container is assembled by fitting a thin plastic inner container, shown by the dotted line, into the rim frame of this application. The rim frame is usually square as shown in the plan view and bottom view, but it may also be rectangular. Reference Figure 3 shows the state of the cuts a and b that form the central part a and corner part b when the rim frame is unfolded as shown in Reference Figure 2. Part a is formed from two 90° cuts, and part b has one 90° cut.
