Abstract

This item is a two-part "vest component" that is based on the sewing concept of kimonos, which are made from square pieces of fabric, and uses the cylindrical shape, which is a symbol of Japanese clothing, as the basic design element, and connects tubular pieces of fabric to create a garment. The design consists of a vest half, which is made by connecting a tubular section that wraps around the chest, shoulders, and back in an inverted U shape with square pieces of fabric on the sides, and the two halves are connected to form a "vest" by fastening the chest and back sections with a zipper or Velcro. By changing the cotton, color, and pattern of the tubular section according to the season, it is possible to create down vests, voluminous silhouettes, and various other uses.
