Abstract

The article to which the design of this application pertains is a ballet instep pad. A ballet instep pad is a pad attached to the area from the instep of a ballet dancer's foot to the area adjacent to the base of the leg. When the dancer extends their leg (when the instep is aligned with the area adjacent to the base of the leg), the pad makes the instep appear raised to the audience (making the instep appear higher), thus making the instep and surrounding area look more beautiful. Furthermore, the ballet instep pad to which the design of this application pertains is made of rubber. That is, it is flexible. Therefore, when the ballet instep pad is attached to the area from the instep of the dancer's foot to the area adjacent to the base of the leg, it conforms to the shape of that area on the dancer's foot and leg and fits snugly to that area (see Reference Diagram (Photo 1 of Installation), Reference Diagram (Photo 2 of Installation), and Reference Diagram (Photo 1 of Installation)).
