Tile

Abstract

The presented design is a single shape, and its replicas fill three-dimensional space without gaps or overlaps. The shape has no sharp corners. It has 36 edges, 8 faces bordered by 6 edges, and 6 faces bordered by 4 edges. These numbers are identical to those indicating the characteristics of a truncated octahedron. Furthermore, the symmetry of the shape matches that of a truncated octahedron. Figure 1.7 is a reference diagram to illustrate the edges (red) of this tile.
