Abstract

The article to which the design pertains is the main wing of an airplane toy, constructed from an acrylic sheet of uniform thickness. The acrylic sheet is typically about 2 mm thick. Reference Figure 1 shows an assembly kit for the airplane toy. In Reference Figure 1, the hatched areas are through holes. This assembly kit includes the fuselage, left and right main wings, left and right horizontal stabilizers, a nameplate, a base, and a support rod, all of which are detachably supported as components of the airplane. The airplane toy can be completed by removing each component from the assembly kit and assembling them. Specifically, the protruding parts of the left and right main wings are fixed by being inserted from both sides into a through hole in the center of the fuselage. The protruding parts of the left and right horizontal stabilizers are fixed by being inserted from both sides into a through hole at the left end of the fuselage. The positions of the protruding parts of the main wings and tail wings are different on the left and right sides, allowing them to be inserted from both sides into the through hole in the fuselage. The protruding part of the support rod is inserted into a through hole in the center of the base, and the recessed part of the support rod fits into a recessed part at the bottom of the fuselage. The protruding part at the bottom of the nameplate is inserted into the through-hole on the left side of the base. Reference Figure 2 shows the completed airplane toy.
