Abstract

This article relates to a weather radar equipped with a notched parabolic antenna (5m in diameter). This article differentiates itself from typical parabolic antennas through the reinforcement pattern of the parabolic antenna and the lower part of the body. Because this parabolic antenna is large, with a diameter of 5m, a reinforcing member is attached to the back of the parabolic antenna to maintain the rigidity of the outer circumference. As a result, the arrangement of this reinforcing member gives the back of the parabolic antenna a patterned design. Furthermore, by providing a notch on the edge of the parabolic antenna and piping the waveguide through the notch, the waveguide does not protrude beyond the outer diameter of the parabolic antenna. As a result, the appearance of the parabolic antenna becomes circular, and the external dimensions are made smaller, giving it a clean and neat impression. In addition, since this notch is provided at positions that divide the outer diameter of the parabolic antenna into four equal parts, it has symmetry and stability. Furthermore, the lower part of the body that supports the parabolic antenna has a unified design achieved by using the same size cover for accessing the inside of the body and by using the same arrangement of reinforcing members to increase the strength of the body.
