Abstract
This product is a component used for hand straps, primarily installed inside trains and buses, to support handrails. It is a fastener for hand straps that overlaps and fastens the leather sections of the hand straps together. Specifically, this product consists of a front part that covers the approximate center of the hand strap's leather section from the front, and a rear part that covers the leather belt from the back at the aforementioned approximate center. This product is used in an assembled state with the front and rear parts facing each other and their respective sides joined together (see front view, rear view, right side view, top view, bottom view, AA cross-sectional view, BB cross-sectional view, and perspective view). The front part has a front plate and bent side plates on both sides, forming a U-shape in cross-section, with a conical opening formed in the center of the front plate. The rear part has a rear plate and bent side plates on both sides, forming a U-shape in cross-section, with a shaft with a female screw hole erected and fixed to the inner surface of the rear plate. Stepped surfaces are formed on the ends of both sides of the front part and the ends of both sides of the rear part. The stepped surfaces of each part are fitted together to form a box-shaped assembly. In the assembled state, the shaft on the inner surface of the rear plate contacts the opening of the front plate. In addition, a lower opening and an upper opening are partially formed at the front of the bottom surface and the rear of the top surface, respectively. Two pieces of leather material, which are held in place inside the box-shaped assembled product, protrude from these lower and upper openings (see EE enlarged section reference diagram and FF enlarged section reference diagram). Furthermore, while the strap including this item is constructed by folding a plate-shaped leather material in half vertically and overlapping the folded ends at approximately the center of the leather material, and securing them with set screws, this item is constructed by passing the cylindrical shaft of the rear part through approximately the center of the overlapping leather material, and then combining it with the front part so as to cover the front part, thereby enclosing the sides of the overlapping leather material. In this assembled state, set screws are passed through openings with conical holes and fixed to the shaft with screws for use. The inner surfaces of the front part and the inner surfaces of the rear part are each formed with mountain-shaped protrusions. When this item is in use, these protrusions bite into the surface of the leather material and secure it in place.
